ConvertIt - A great little app that can be used to convert images to multiple image formats really quickly. Just drag and drop on the icon. I’m running it as a menu bar app only but it can be configured to run in the Dock as well.
Delibar - App to manage all my Pinboard bookmarks. Also an iPhone app
Dropbox - Just to make sure everything is in sync
TextExpander - While I don’t use it to its fullest extent, it is great for typing long repetitive strings in the Terminal
Location - Just the Mac OS X Lion icon letting me know what apps are currently using my Mac’s location data.
Sidekick (Previously NetworkLocation) - I use this to automate my Mac depending on where it is. For example when I get into work it will drop my volume, mount the work server drive and open up Remote Desktop Connection. I used to use AirPortLocation but since the dev isn’t supporting Lion I’ve had to switch. I only hope the devs of Sidekick add more features in the future.
CloudApp - Used on almost a hourly basis to upload pictures, links, etc. for easy sharing.
unDock - Great for cleanly ejecting all manner of drives be they network, Time Machine or USB/FW ones. Allows you to run scripts as well.
Seamless - Transitions songs from iPhone to Mac and back again.
Hazel - There isn’t enough room here to say all the good things that I want to about Hazel. If you don’t have it, get it. Think Folder Actions on steroids that have been given Green Lantern’s ring, is Superman’s secret brother, & has been soaked in cosmic rays.
Time Machine - Just to monitor how everything is running.
Wi-Fi - Because I’m constantly having to change networks.
iStat Menus 3 - This app is great. It lets me monitor what my Mac is doing at a glance and if I need more information I simply click on one of the stats to bring up a full menu. I’ve got it monitoring my Disk Activity, Network, Disk Usage, Memory, CPU, Battery, & Date and Time.

CloudApp & Droplr: Sharing documents and other files. CloudApp has a great link shortening feature (I use the keyboard wherever possible) but is limited to 25MB files. Droplr also has the much better iPhone app.
Dropbox: Using it with 1Password, PKGBackup, and other things that should be stored and accessed wherever possible. Also great photo gallery implementation for simple photo sharing
Adium: The one and only IM

ControlPlane: Automatically switch location by rules (‘WG’ is the German abbreveation for ‘flat share’ though)
TextExpander: Save your time - use TextExpander!
Blast: Keeps track of my recently changed/opened/created files. Very good when I’m downloading tons of documents for university
Evernote: Note taking accessible over Mac, iPhone and internet
Caffeine: Prevents my Mac from falling asleep
SlimBatteryMonitor: Does what the name suggests
Then the usual: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (with MagicMouse connected), Time Machine (damn! how I hate that exclamation mark appearing on Lion when not backing up for 30min), Clock and Spotlight.
I got some other apps running like Alfred, Default Folder X, BetterTouchTool and Divvy. I would have put them into the menu bar but the problem is my Mac being a MB13,3inch model. Therefore space on the menubar is rare.

Xmarks - This is great to keep bookmarks synchronized between different machines and also to keep them backed up in the cloud.
Quicksilver - Fantastic app to do more with less work. Recently it has seen new life, it is rock solid on Snow Leopard. It has a lot of goodies (like triggers, plugins) and pretty soon you’ll be a keyboard ninja operating your Mac.
Dropbox - Just Wow!
TextExpander - This one of those must have apps. Great to create form letters, emails, etc… TypeIt4Me is also a great substitute, I have both of them and they are equally good.
BetterTouchTool - It’s like TouchPad Pro for your Mac. Expands the multitouch capabilities of the touchpad. Really useful.
QuickCal - I learned about this little gem on Mac Menu Bars. Lovely little app that allows me to check my calendars and todo’s and with a quick shortcut key allows me to enter events in plain language. Really useful. Works well with BusyCal because it shares the iCal database, but the developer is working on a better integration with BusyCal.
ClipMenu - ⌘-C ⌘-V for the Pros.
LittleSnapper - Screenshot utility with powerful sharing and editing features.
QuickCursor - A quick way to launch my favorite no distractions text editor (WriteRoom) from any app.
Hazel - Another must have little gem. It automates a lot of folder cleaning and organizing stuff.
BusyCal - It is often described as iCal Pro, and in effect it is. The way it syncs with Gmail is alone worth it.
Bluetooth, Airport utility, Sound and Battery Status, all stock Apple items.
FuzzyClock - FuzzyClock is great. It gives you the time but in a more human reading form.

Dropbox - no need to explain
TextExpander - because sometimes I forget my own keyboard shortcuts
Plex - to stream audio video to iPhone and iPad
Bluetooth - because sometimes the trackpad plays funky
Battery level - probably will remove it as I’m mostly on clamshell mode
Spotlight - sometimes I use it
I’ve also taken away the clock and use GeekTool for date and time on the desktop.

Fuzzy - Shows the current time in words eg. ‘ten past twelve’
There are a couple missing, Sparrow and Skype, I removed Divvy and replaced with Moom, replaced Grooveshark with Radium, and went back from Evernote to Notational Velocity.

Mailplane - my e-mail client of choice
OmniFocus - managing all my tasks and projects there
- amazing desktop app for the ReadItLater service (similar to Instapaper, but better)
- I tried bunch of other Twitter apps and came back to the official one. It’s neat and gets the work done
Dropbox - I was a SugarSync user for a while, but now I’m using Dropbox for all my current documents and keep SugarSync for long-term archives (due to its flexible selective sync features)
- I’m working a lot with people overseas, so I need IM and VOIP a lot
TextExpander - I didn’t understand for a long time why people use text-expanding apps, but once I started to use one - there’s no turning back. It’s SO good!
RescueTime - this is a new app for me, I’m trying to be more conscious about how I’m spending my time and RescueTime keeps track of all my computer activities
Pomodoro - amazing Pomodoro timer that is integrated with OmniFocus and helps me to work on my tasklist in short 25-min bursts
Isolator - another productivity app that helps me to focus on one app at a time
Cinch - simple window manager that allows me to quickly arrange windows side by side
gfxCardStatus - controls which videocard is used when I’m plugged in and which when I’m running on battery. It really helps to save battery a lot
CalendarBar - all of my calendars (yes I have more than one) are on Google and I tried to use many calendaring apps and frankly this little gem does 90% of what I need
f.lux - really saves my poor eyes when I work late at night
Caffeine - I rarely use it, but sometimes when you’re watching videos or making a presentation it’s indispensable
Transmit - FTP/S3 client of choice
Evernote - I’m a big fan and use it to store lots of reference materials
Spaces
iStat Menus - configured to show time, battery and CPU, with a bunch of other information available through a drop-down menu
Language Bar - I’m bi-lingual, so I switch a lot between English and Russian
Every other default icon (except Spaces) including Spotlight (I use Launchbar anyway) is removed since I either don’t need it or have a better alternative.

MailMate notification - The fantastic lightweight IMAP mail client from Benny Kjær Nielsen.
CoverSutra - A recent discovery I use to control iTunes without needing to switch back to the main application window.
PopChar X - This utility saves me so much time finding the right characters.
Skitch - Essential for marking-up screenshots and hosting my blog images.
TextExpander - I rely on this to correct common spelling mistakes but also for its ability to shorten URLs and insert text from snippets.
Delibar - I use Delibar to capture ‘things I would like to become bookmarks’ while I’m away from my main computer, sending them to Pinboard.
- In the same way that CoverSutra lets me control iTunes when it’s not visible, I Love Stars lets me assign ratings. I definitely give it ★★★★★.
f.lux - The jury’s still out on this utility that changes my computer display to a warmer night mode automatically.
Tags - One of a number of applications that allow me to use to manage files.
QuickCursor - This great little utility allows you to use your favourite text editor to input data into web browsers. The great advantage of this is it does away with the need for an input manager.
App Tamer - The idea is that this pauses an application when you switch away from it, then automatically restarts it when you start using it again to save battery life.
SlimBatteryMonitor - I’ve had this on every Mac I’ve ever owned and it does just what it says on the tin.
TextSoap 7 - TextSoap is one of those apps that’s barely visible but saves a huge amount of time. I’ve previously and since then it has been updated and gained a menu bar icon as a result.
MenuMeters - Another of those apps I have used forever. Here it is set to display network, traffic, memory usage and CPU levels. Very useful to see if anything is hogging your computer.
Apple’s standard language and text input menu, AirPort indicator and Clock.
Search - This is Tags’ Enhanced Spotlight.

smcFanControl - To make sure that my old Macbook is not gonna stop brutally due to those annoying Websites still using Flash.
Dropbox - A must have.
TextExpander - I mostly use Markdown, HTML and date replacement snippets.
Cloud App - Very neat tool to easily upload screenshots and files.
Hazel - Great tool to rename and sort files in my Downloads folder but also to sort my Dropbox files when they get automatically on my computer thanks to services such as SendtoDropbox or DropItTo.
SlimBatteryMonitor - A neat app to replace the default Mac Battery icon, I only need to know the percentage of remaining battery, not the logo. Besides I am usually already aware of the fact that my battery is charging thanks to the red light on the charger.

Caffeine - Very convenient when Skyping or watching videos in a browser.
Sound, Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Clock and Spotlight - The basics. I have the Bluetooth there only because I use a Bluetooth earset.

BetterTouchTool - A great way to use all the features of your Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.
Windows 7 Notification area - Part of Parallels 6.
Parallels 6 - Runs Windows 7 in a virtual machine.
Alarm Clock Pro - Event scheduler; ftps data every 10 minutes, and mutes and unmutes my system at night and in the morning.
Zooom/2 - Allows for resizing of windows such that they snap to the edges of other windows.
TextExpander - Great way to turn short abbreviations into full text while typing.
Eye-Fi - Uploads pictures from my digital camera wirelessly over Wi-Fi.
Overflow - Application launcher/selector at the press of a button or hot key.
Divvy - Move windows to predefined places on the screen.
Ping Pong - Keeps my ISP honest by pinging a web site every minute to make sure I have connectivity.
Amnesty - Allows widgets to go on the desktop.
MenuEverywhere - Places the menubar for applications at the top of each window.
HoudahSpot - Great front-end to Spotlight.
TinyCal - Shows a calendar on the screen, with GoogleCal appointments.
- Notifications.
CapSee - Indicates on the screen when the caps lock key is pressed.
LogMeIn - Allows my to connect to my computer remotely.
AppleScript - Easily run and edit scripts.
Time Machine - Back ups.
Bluetooth - So I can see how long my mouse battery is.
Eject button - To eject media.
Volume - Changes sound volume.
Spotlight - Self-explanatory.
